Coordinator: Prof. Dr. P.S.N. Rao
Year of Establishment: 2016
This Centre has been set up in the School in the year 2016 in order to promote the discipline of real estate studies. For long, real estate or property development, a multi-disciplinary activity has been rather disorganized in this country. While it has forward and backward linkages with over 260 industries and is a major contributor to the economy, with a huge employment potential, particularly for the unskilled and semi-skilled workers, the systematic organization of this industry has been a long and pressing demand. With the enactment of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act 2016, the foundation for a streamlined regime had been put in place.
Objectives
- This Centre has been created with the objective to promote the academic discipline of real estate studies, conduct short programmes, training workshops, seminars, studies, etc.
- The Centre also would like to assist the central and state governments as a policy advocate.
